Items Needed:
template of hand
colored paper
pen/marker
string or yarn
Using a template of a basic hand shape, make multiple copies (4 to a page works well) on autumn colored paper. Use a hole punch to punch holes on two ends of each hand, so long as the holes are opposite of one another. The week before Thanksgiving, each night maybe around the dinner table, have everyone in the family write down things they are thankful for, one thing per hand, and put in a basket on the table. Wednesday night, or Thanksgiving morning, string the hands together and hang somewhere for all to admire. These make great conversation pieces. And are a great thing for little ones to tackle while you are busy in the kitchen.
