| I hate being sick, but worst i hate coughing my lungs up. I had this crap for 3 month back in 06 just cause my doc was old school and said broncitis is only for smokers. Yeah right. When i had my accident i was on the way to the doc to get checked. The hospital checked me after they x rayed my leg and said yeah i had broncitis. so i am on generic Z pak. i hope it kicks the stuff out of my chest. i hate coughing so hard. | | | | | Senior Member Level up: 30%, 164 Points needed |

| Bronchitis I believe happens to people who
experience second hand smoke:
I experienced it most of my life with my mother, who wasn't going to quit, even if it gagged her daughter: Me.
Her addiction was to great for her to give it up.
I believe my phlegm problem is due to the second hand smoke.
It gags me every time I get near it.
I have to walk away from cigarette smokers
& will walk the long way around, just to avoid the smoke.
I'm not trying to bash cigarette smokers, after all many of them to not realize the problems some of us experience as a result.
There is some over the counter medicine for phlegm,
could that help you? | | |

| My parents were smokers all my life till last year. So that trashed my upper repitory system for good. Over the counter don't work anymore. i used that stuff so much over the years. only z pak and codine work. however i can't take codine anymore. | | | | | Member Level up: 9%, 98 Points needed |

| I get bronchitis very easily because of my Asthma. It usually happens from second hand smoke from people which walk by me outside with cig. or have it on there clothing. This stuff is deadly poison to me. It is not just inside smoking that can get me -outside public places like bus stops are killers also. | | | | | Senior Member Level up: 32%, 167 Points needed |

| I hold my breath if i run into smoke. But thanks to mom and dad, my upper respitory system is premently trashed. I have not been around smokers lately, so why i got this stuff again we don't know. Only thing the er doc could come up with was my damnaged upper resp. system. | | | | | Member Level up: 13%, 48 Points needed |

| Sometimes I really think that the cough is alot worse then the actual sickness. I too hate coughing! And once I get started it takes a while to get over it. I have heard of people bruising and even breaking ribs by coughing. Isn't that wild! What did your Dr. give you for the cough?? I usually ask for a shot of steroids to loosen up the phlegm that way at least the coughing is productive. Hope you get to feeling better! mgf~ | | | | |
