| | Thoughts for weight loss challange |

| Here are a few thoughts that I had
On a certain date we weigh in (I suggest Jan 15th since some will forget New Year's day) then we weigh in on the same day each month - everyone who is in the challange will send a card or something VERY small to the person who looses the most weight - that is part one
Part two would be the daily thread where you post encouragement, tips, your food intake / what you have done for exercise etc - And I would suggest that the person with the highest post count each month (of valid posts) get a little surprise in the mail. One way this has failed in the past is that people stopped posting so everyone lost interest- this will keep interest in the thread and hopefully people posting
Two thoughts on how to do this - the person who lost the most weight sends something (they gained from the encouragement) or we have a different angel each month (risk here being that in a few months it will only be 3 or 4 people and the same one will have to send out repeatedly discouraging that person if they aren't loosing weight) the item could be something small and hand made, or just a token type gift
I would also like to do a over all looser - but that makes it hard for people to join midway, so I thought it might not be a good idea

| I think that sounds good. Unfortunately, I also think I will be one of the first to drop out. I just can't seem to stay committed to weight loss methods. /so discouraging! I probably won;t bother even starting, but your ideas are very good ones for the ones that are stronger than me! | | | | | Super Moderator Level up: 39%, 181 Points needed |

| Way to go on the ideas! Those are really good! Looks like you have really been thinkin' about ways to encourage others!~ I truly think that encouragement will be the 1 thing that keeps people involved. I know that I find that I'm easily discouraged but I am also discouraged when I look at the numbers on the scale going higher and higher, having to take more medication for my aches and pains and such. Hey Ya'll keep posting the ideas!!! mgf~ :high5: | | | | | Member Level up: 23%, 12 Points needed |

| What do we think about posting "before and after" pictures? Just like on Biggest Loser? Yeah, I know it would be hard to show the 'befores'. I'm pretty embarassed about my jelly-belly myself. But, I thought maybe that would kick me into gear a little bit. And then, once a month, post a new pic to show if you've lost anything. I can open a private photobucket account and only give passwords to the participants so the rest of the world won't see. What do you think? | | | | | Super Moderator Level up: 39%, 181 Points needed |

| I think it is a good idea.... HOWEVER - I will think about it... I have gone to great lengths not to have any photos of myself or of my family on the internet... I will think it through if I can get past that
(when I first got on the internet in the 90's, someone in one of the forums I belonged to had a photo of thier child altered into something pornographic.... there has NEVER been a picture of Slidette posted ANYWHERE on the internet because of that!)! | | | | | Junior Member Level up: 10%, 72 Points needed |

| Don't give up. We can all do it. It's just a matter of support and not doing without. Start slow and build up. Like instead of 2 heaping spoonfuls of something take 1 1/2, and just gradually keep cutting back. We can do this! One meal at a time. | | | | | Member Level up: 10%, 51 Points needed |

| If any of us start out with the attitude that we for some reason are not worthy of looking and feeling good then we have lost before we even begin.
Each and every person that joins this group needs to have a goal. Mine is to lose 50 pounds in twelve months! When I do it I know I will look great! I will be able to fit in SIZE 10 jeans, something I have not done in 14 years.
When you put things down on paper and give yourself a deadline you train your brain to accept the new program you are feeding into it. We want to be thinner! We also want to be healthier.
I have been addicted to sugar since birth. Ha Ha. With God's help and my determination I will lose the pounds I want!
I hardly ever drink water. I know that is something that I can do pretty easy. It fills you up so you don't feel hungry. I aslo know I eat just to have something to do.
I think it is very important to give each other support. So to everyone who joins, We are a can do group of women!!! I am proud to be a part of this group and I will not quit!
Looking forward to a thinner and healthier me! | | | | | Moderator Points: 14,409, Level: 52 | Level up: 53%, 491 Points needed |
