Alright MGF! what do you have in mind? I think it's a great idea!

How can we motivate each other to eat better AND exercise on the internet?!

Hubby has decided to buy me a recumbent bike for Christmas (yes, I DO want this!) so I really plan to get some use of that thing!

All joking aside! FOR ME the first step is attitude - I am making the scale move the wrong way!

I need to take better care of myself in EVERY WAY - I used to meditate - I may not be able to do that everyday now, but heck even once a week to just take 10 minutes to clear my mind would sure be nice. Putting make up on more often etc - I have spent the last 4 1/2 years looking after Slidette instead of myself.... time I take back a little of that time for ME!

Somehow I have let myself "Slide" - with it has gone my self esteem - it has created a snowball affect - the more I slide, the worse I feel.... you get the idea

The first step for me is to find 15 minuutes (or more if I can) JUST FOR ME! to exercise / do my nails / pluck my eyebrows.... whatever!

What is everyone else going to do for thier first step?

I really wish that I had some "magical" secret as to how to lose weight. I know that weightloss isn't an overnight thing...it is a journey.
For me my journey starts in my mind. I find that my thoughts are my worse enemy.
I am planning on picking up (actually I need to locate it first) my Dr. Phil book on weightloss. I really think that his book gives alot good advise on the mental part of weightloss.
I will also be locating helpful hints and posting them.
Other things are in the works too~

Do any of ya'll have any special books that you find really helpful~or would be helpful if you did what it said~ :rolleyes:

I am getting my mind set. One thing I have learned being a diabetic, some of the medicine I take makes me swell and makes it hard to lose weight. So I give up. I'm setting my mind to lose inches. If I concentrate on that then I know that I'm on track. Also know that muscle weighs more than fat and that can make the scale move slower. Have a great day!

I am looking forward to this weight loss....I too have Dr. Phil's weight loss book...and the other one..the food guide...I have lots of weight to lose....So am looking forward to being helpful and being helped. One day at a time and 1 pound at a time...easier said than done...but I know that we can do it.

well I am 5 4 almost 140 heavest I've ever been since I had my son who is 30 and he weight 10lbs 1 oz was 92 lbs when I got pregnant my last son I was 120 lbs he was only 7lbs 14 oz anyway enough of that I have COPD so 5 extra pounds I feel it.. I desperately need to stop smoking but am afraid i'll eat anything that doesn't get away from so I hope I can lose a few and try to stop !!! It would be cool too if maybe we could share receipes that we have tried!!! I am so looking forward to this challenge

I never realized that there were this many wanting to loose weight.
I suppose this is a huge problem in every country~not just the USA.
I myself know that this has been a problem of mine for many years....at least 17.
I am at the point in my life...on the edge of 40 :eek:, and thinking I really don't want to be like this when I hit that age in 2008. This is something that I need to do...for me!
I want to look better, feel better and be healthy!
