| I have had legs cramps before but nothing as painful as this. My right inner thigh cramps. It just started this week. It happens at night and next day my leg is really sore from it. I wondered if anyone had ever had this and might have any info on it. Prevention or Cures? Appreciate any help. | | | | | Moderator Level up: 28%, 91 Points needed |

| I don't know about your particular problem, but, I get horrible cramps in my feet that travels up my leg.
I drink Tonic Water with Quinine. This works Quite quickly for my DH and I. We have a bottle on hand all of the time. I used to take quinine pills, but, those can't be used for this purpose any more.
I hope this helps you out. | | | | | Senior Member Points: 14,970, Level: 53 | Level up: 54%, 480 Points needed |

| I'm not a doctor by no means but I was once an athlete...(believe it or not) and I suffered from leg cramps alot!
Believe it or not the Dr. prescribed 1 banana a day. And that helped me~
Worth a try~

| I usually eat a banana or half of one each morning. I also take a Potassium tablet. I am Diabetic and someone suggested that my electrolytes might be off since I drink lots of water and have to go to bathroom often. I have not had another spell since the one couple of night ago, but that was the second time it has happened in last couple of months.
I don't know what I had eaten the first time it happened but I do know that I had eaten some salty potato chips in the evening before I had this last one. Also overate on them. I know I should not even eat them, much less over eat. I am wondering if the extra salt could have anything to do with it. | | | | | Senior Member Points: 14,970, Level: 53 | Level up: 54%, 480 Points needed |

Appreciate any help. | I do have those kind of cramps as well as muscle cramps elsewhere. My doctor took some kind of blood test and there was something in my muscle test (I don't know what the word was, it started with cre) The level is supposed to be 183 and mine was over 400. I had been taking Zetia for chlosterol and I was told to quit taking it and that has really helped with deleting the cramps. Don't know if this helps or not but thought I would let you know my story | | | | | Junior Member Level up: 9%, 97 Points needed |

| I had the test for muscle problems from meds. That is not the problem in my case.
I also get up and walk when they occur. And it does help. I take calcium pills so it's not caused by a lack of calcium either. I did wonder about low potassium. A banana would help this problem. But if that were the case, wouldn't you get them every night? | | | | |
