Stress Relief???

Concerning dishes; laundry; dirty toilets say a resounding "Oh Well". If it's really getting bad, find someone who could use a little extra cash and offer them $30 to come in for 2 or 3 hours to clean what ever is bothing you the most. There's always someone willing to do this. I have always been able to find someone on the occassions I've gotten overwhelmed by household crap, and it's always worth the $30.

The "little things" are getting to you because you don't know what to do about the big thing.
Write it down or speak it out loud. "The door to the bedroom squeeks, where is the wd-40?" (at this point someone says "talking to yourself Mom/Honey" to which I reply "No one else will help me solve this problem, so me, myself and I are working on it") This usually gets someone helping me.

The big problem. Your daughter. It was really hard for me to admit I couldn't handle the problems with my son alone. After all, I'm the mom, I should just know what to do. Right. You need to find real help here. A clergy; a counselor; or someone who's been through it with there own kids. How old your daughter is will effect the actions you have to take, but take action.

Finally, I have a crying towel hanging on the back of the computer chair, it says "Oh Well" on it. Throw up your hands and say it, "Oh well", when there really isn't anything you can do but move forward. I got it from a guest speaker at our church in Virginia Beach who told the story of his RV breaking down on a hill, and when the tow truck guy tried to move it, it started rolling, and rolled right down the hill to a crashing hault. And while it was rolling he looked at his wife and said, "Oh well". There was nothing he could do to stop it all he could do is move forward. Call the insurance, etc.


If all else fails here's the advice a doctor gave me over 20 years ago. Keep a supply of yard sale glasses on hand with some goggles. When stressed go out side and throw them at a wall. You can't believe how good it feels. You don't even mind cleaning up the mess!

GOD DID NOT SAY OUR LIFE WAS GOING TO BE AN EASY ROAD HE TOLD US WE WOULD HAVE TROUBLES ALONG THE WAY BUT IF YOU GIVE THEM BACK TO HIM HE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT SOME TIMES HE HELPS YOU THRU TROUBLED TIMES TO TEACH YOU SOMETHING IE.. TRUST , PATIENCE ECT....BUT IN ALL THING INCLUDE HIM HE WILL GET YOU THRU
HE HAS HELPED ME SO MANY TIMES I CANT COUNT THEM ALL FROM HAVING BOTH PARENTS HAVE THERE RIGHT FOOT AMPT. IN THE SAME YEAR TO THE DEATHS OF TWO OF MY AUNT THOSE ARE BIG THINGS BUT EVEN THE LITTLE THINGS HE CAN HELP WITH JUST TRUST HIM AND THERE WILL BE LESS
STRESS AND WORRIES

I KNOW I WENT ON A LITTLE LONG BUT IF I CAN HELP ONE PERSON WITH STRESS IT IS WORTH IT

Thanks so much for posting what you did!
I have been away for far too long!
The cloud of depression & stress have been on me for the past several months. I was at the point in my life were I had lost my joy and my smile.
I was getting pretty good at faking it but those who really know me knew something just wasn't right.
I have pulled it together. Yes I still have some rough days but my joy is on the highroad!
Each day I'm feeling better-I truly am blessed for all of the support!
