| I had this problem a few times and I would stand on the stairs with my toes, heels hanging down, stretch up on my toes and then push down to stretch the arch. Many times a day, at first it hurt alot but in a couple of weeks I was fine. Worked for my daughter too.

| Please if you have this type of foot pain, don't let it go untreated.....my Dr. said that left untreated it progresses into heel spurs.....much more painful | | | | | Junior Member Level up: 9%, 52 Points needed |

In case your not familiar with this condition ...A diagnosis of plantar fasciitis means you have inflamed the tough, fibrous band of tissue (fascia) connecting your heel bone to the base of your toes.in my foot to stimulate blood flow....it all seems to be working. | | | | | | Moderator Level up: 33%, 284 Points needed |

| Hey Jeanne!
To use the rolling pin......... just place it on the floor in front of a chair, sit down, put your bare foot (or you can have a sock on) on the rolling pin (like you were going to stand on it) and then just roll the pin back and forth putting some pressure on it with your foot. What it does, is help to stretch that band of tendon so it doesn't hurt so much. If the foot is REALLY bad, intense pain and redness, freeze a water bottle (like one of the 19 oz ones) and use that to roll your foot on. It will help to ease the inflamation and stretch the tendon at the same time. If this is a recurring problem, there is a place that sells different things that help with plantar fasciitis. Here is a link to the website: FootSmart :: Shoes, Socks, Slippers, Support Hose, Foot Care, Orthopedic & Comfort Products
click on "heel pain/plantar fasciitis" under the Foot Health heading.
Good luck! | | | | |
