| I started a discussion about this on the Just for Fun board, trying to make light of a bad situation.
I complained about toilet tissue being so soft it was leaving lint in my private areas. I had no idea what was happening over time. The residue caused me to have an infection, which is a serious thing for me because I am immune-deficient due to rhematoid arthritis drug treatments. My symptoms were itching and burning. I tried Vagisil to no avail.
I had to see my doctor; it got bad enough that I was scratching at night and causing my skin to erupt and bleed. I was cleansing myself several times daily to remove the "lint" as well as the excess discharge due to the infection.
Amazingly, he told me his EIGHT YEAR OLD stepdaughter had the same thing!
I switched to using baby wipes.
MOTHERS of daughters, please be aware of this before your little girl gets an infection! If she is a teenager, please don't jump at pushing your anger button and accuse her of doing things she may not be doing! Get her to a doctor instead! | | | Women want to be treated as equals, not sequels

| Wow! That really is terrible. Do the TP companies know this?? Did you tell them in your e-mail to them? Maybe they should hear about it. Not that it will necessarily change the way they make it, but at least they would know. Maybe those bears on the commercials don't always know what's best. | | | | | Moderator Points: 15,300, Level: 53 | Level up: 54%, 150 Points needed |

| I did tell them about the infection; she emailed me back telling me how unusual my situation is/was and, without me asking, sent me a $7 check to refund my money. | | | | | Moderator Level up: 33%, 284 Points needed |

| Baby wipes are not flushable. There are other flushables out there though. Even the flushables should not be used with a septic system. They don't really break down. Some had used them while camping in their camper and had quite a mess.
Hope this helps.
I know I sure hate the lint problem especially when you have to go for a PAP test. | | | | | Moderator Points: 15,300, Level: 53 | Level up: 54%, 150 Points needed |

| Thanks for mentioning that about septics! I've been tossing them in the bathroom trash and emptying the trash at least once daily.
According to my doctor, that lint can work its way up higher into your vagina | | | | | Super Moderator Level up: 40%, 63 Points needed |

| GG have things cleared up I hope?
The Kandoo wipes by Pampers (and Huggies have thier own type) are flushable however they work out to be something like 7 or 8 cents a sheet and as was mentioned, not the best for the septic
I hope that you are doing better GG | | | | | Moderator Points: 15,300, Level: 53 | Level up: 54%, 150 Points needed |

| Wow it all makes sense now after reading this post. I was the same way and could not figure it out and I said that I was sure it was the TP so we switch to the no name and guess what I don't have those problems any more. It is terrible that it happens. I guess cheaper is better in this case. I find the more expensive ones are linter as well as the seem to have a fragrant smell to them even though they say they are fragrant free. I remember growing up and they had the colored TP and there where a lot of complaints about it from the dyes. Do these companies think, we have to use this in a very sensitive area of our bodies. Glad you are better GG

| I'm glad you talked about this in more detail Hon!!
I have never had infection problems, but after buying a certain brand I went back to the cheapper TP also!! I noticed the lint on my bathroom fixtures, thinking it was dust all the time, but day after day I would wide it away and then it would be there again!! I was always gettting the balling up with the name brands, but I'm a no name TP buyer now and have not had any problems!!
I have been using baby wipes for years, I flush mine when I'm in the city, but not at my moms or camping, for the reasons listed already!! I have never had trouble in the city though!!
I have also use the cottenel wipes too, but I have gone back to the baby wipes and usually no name!!
I no longer buy the more cottony, fluffy or quilted Name brands, just the simple 2 ply TP for me!!
Thanks again Hon!! | | | Hugs!!
