Red face Womanly Problems
Old 11-26-2008, 11:12 AM   #1 (permalink)

I have been Pre Meniposal since I was 30, but now I am 46!!
I thought I was done or in menapose, till about a couple months ago when I started getting my cycle again, and now this month I have been bleeding for 3 weeks and with lots of clots too!! This happened to me before and I started seeing a specialist and then it stopped for a couple years!!UGH!!

I am so sick of this and so is DH!!hahahaha!!!

I have a check up apointment with the specialist for early next year. There is no use going while I am in this state as he can't do anything for me.

I want to have the operation, but I know I have to lose weight first!!
This is my goal for the New Year AGAIN!!LOL

Oh I do feel fine, I get a little tired from the blood lose some days, but I have been checked to see if I need help with that before and it is not enough to worry about. I get the odd cramp, but on the most part I am fine, JUST SICK OF IT!!!LOL

Is there anyone else out there that has gone through this or something like it???

Hugs

I've been going thru this for the past 3 years. I spent 11 months the first year bleeding, I thought it was just breakthrough bleeding from getting off of Depo-Provera.

My problem is a whacked out hormone imbalance. I've been on Zovia birth control pills, just started my second month. It's helping some. I'm not in the bathroom every hour anymore. (Ok, TMI... I'm sorry, lol) My dr. says that after about 6 months of this birth control to regulate my hormones, things should kick back to normal as if nothing was ever wrong. I hope so, cuz if not, I'll be going for a D&C. Then, my chances of getting preggers again will increase a little.

So, yes, I'm right there with ya. I know exactly what you're going thru.

WOW! I just went through the exact same thing!!! I had my period for 36 days! I had a doctor who really didn't do much for me. (She was nasty to boot!) So after going through this 3 times with no help. I changed doctors! Yes, there are great women doctors out there! She did a sonagram, they measure the thickness of the uterus and I had a biopsy (not fun) but very important and had to be done. Once all tests where back and everything was found to be normal. She inserted the IUD Mirena. I have not have my period in 5 months. The Mirena stays in for 5 years, it has lower and steadier hormones than the Pill. Check out this site: Mirena® - Frequently Asked Questions By the way, I am 50 yrs old and I too have had a crazy cycle for the past 5 - 8 yrs. My doctor figures that at the end of the 5 years with the Mirena, I should be close to being done with menopause.
So...please change doctors. Many doctors care for these situations differently. Surgery is not the only answer. Best of luck.

omg ! ! ! I HAVE to tell you this story ! ! !

My sister is 42 and for the last 8 years or so she has been having some major problems with her cycle. She would have literally 2 or 3 days a month that she didn't bleed. After moving to Manitoba she thought her family Dr wold refer her to a gynecologist but he said NO ..... I was prego at the time and talked to mine and she took her in ..... anyway after yet another (6) D & C the Dr diagnosed her with a hormonal imbalance and gave her some inserted thingie.
I cant remember what its called but I can ask her tonight :)
Your not alone ! !

I have had all that done, and I was to go in on Dec15th, but I cancelled as I knew I would be on my cycle at that time, not realising I would still be on now, but said I would reschedual for early in the new year!! Anyway I will ask about this Mirena when I go in!!
I have had that biopsy and I am so surprised I didn't scream out when he did it!! I do know I wasn't ready for the pain!! Ugh!! It came back fine, but he did say I have a thick unterin wall and wants to keep an eye on that!!

I was the one that wanted the surgery as I am so sick of this!!! I though I was done, but no luck!!LOL

He doesn't want to do it till I get weight off and I have not been working on that at all!!UGH!!

Anyway Thanks for all your replies!! It is nice to know I'm not alone!!!!

Hugs

I had the same problem for about a year before I quit altogether. I was afraid to go anywhere-talk about gushers. I was in my early forties when I had that whole period thing wrapped up and put away as a memory.

Patricia I have been having crazy periods since i was 17 and got put on risperdone or risperdal as it's called. I have maybe max 4 periods a year, though however this year I have had 13 periods. i had 2 periods for 4 months each. One lasted 13 days of heavy bleeding and then 3 days of sputtering. I'm only 25. I put off seeing the gyno because I can't handle the extreme pain an exam causes me. I'm still never had sex. So it hurts to get looked out down there for me.

Thank you Everyone for Sharing on this subject!! I know it can be embarassing, but we need to know we are not alone and I see we have a wide range of ages going through this!!UGH

Randi you might want to see if there is a specialist that can put you under or help you better with an exam!! It is very important for women to keep an eye(so to speak) on this part of our bodies!! This shouldn`t be so pianful for you, it is always hard to relax in these exams and it is so import to relax at the same time!!UGH I like my DR and spcialist, so it makes it a bit easier!!

Thanks again everyone for sharing!! It has helped me a lot and I`m sure others too!!
