Here's my story, I'm 32 years old I developed a cyst on my right ovary suffered sever pain for several months before I finally found out what it was. Long story short I had surgery on August 22, 2008 and had the right ovary and tube removed. WOW the pain was gone, until about 3 weeks ago, I started having the simailar pain but this time on my left side and some days I would feel the pain in my right side. I went to the doctor yesterday October 14, 2008 an ultrasound was done and now I have a cyst on my left ovary. My regular doctor was not in the office when I went on Tuesday so I had to see the physicians assistant, she has me going back to see my doctor this friday 10/17/08 to discuss what to do about the cyst. Most likely another surgery to have that ovary & tub removed. They are telling me that I will have to start taking estrogen as soon as the left side is removed. I need some advice on that. I've done the research and so many things say not to take it but I have come across things that say the body needs it to keep from having early memory loss. Any one my age been through this before? Please tell me what you think.
I am so sorry that you are having to go through this stressful time. I'm not your age but had a hystorectomy in 99. I took estrogen for a while but with all the things being said and my mom having had breast cancer, I stopped. You are doing right by doing research and talking to people but remember to also talk to your specialist and find out what you can expect without the estrogen and what other options you have. Hmm is memory loss one of the side effects of low estrogen??? I think I must have forgotten that, lol . All kiding aside, will keep you in my prayers. Let us know how you are doing and good luck. Hugs!
Dear God,
I didn't think orange went with purple until I saw the sunset you made on Tuesday night. That was really cool.
I had a complete hysterectomy when I was 29. I took estrogen for a while but then stopped. It's been 17 yrs. since mine and I'm not having any problems. The estrogen did make me gain weight though. You're right in doing the research, but I haven't noticed any early memory loss. You will be in my prayers that all will go well for you.
Hugs, Paula
I took estrogen for years. Stopped when they found out all the side effects it can cause.
Without it, you will go into menopause. You will have the night sweats, hot flashes and so on. The best thing is to talk to your dr. about it and he can explain in detail. Some women have said they didn't have that problem.
Prayers being said for you here.
Thank You ladies for your thoughts and prayers. I defently have to have a total hysterectomy now. I did talk to my doctor about the estrogen. She said that the amount of estrogen that they will give me is a lower dose than what the human body makes. The ovaries produce a certain amount of estrogen the body & brain need to work properly, and that it would start off at a very low dose and if my body needed more than it would be upped a little. She also said that with me nor anyone in my family having any history of breast cancer that I would be fine. There are side effects with everything and that the estrogen was something I could take for a while and then stop taking. If I choose to stop taking it and start to notice that my body needs it I can always go back on it. So all in all like everything these days you have side effects some are good and some are bad, each body reacts differently. So what the heck I think I will try the estrogen at first and go from there. And again Thank You all for your thoughts & prayers.
