Bad sugar craving on Sunday - so I got a trail mix bar with nuts, cranberrys, etc. Less calories then 2 fig newtons.

I notice something that is NOT nice. Loose skin - ugly! So I guess that is the down side of being 60 and have a lot of weight to loose. So here goes the next battle - while still going to the gym 6 days a week. Here is what I am working on: I found a skin cream with A, E and D in it and after every shower I rub myself down with the cream - oh it feels so good on my skin! Then with breakfast, I take 1 fish oil, 1 flaxseed oil, B Complex, C, A, D, E, K and Biotin - only 1 of each because I don't want to overdo the vitamins because to much can be very bad for your health. Because you are supposed to take 2 of the fish oil and flaxseed oil, I take 1 of each in the AM and 1 of each with dinner - I got a bad aftertaste if I take 2 of the fish oil at one time and I don't want to risk tasting the Flaxseed oil if I take 2 of them. I started this on Friday and my skin feels and looks smoother on my forearms - not anywere near as dry as it was. So over the next couple of months I'll see if I get back some of the "elasticity" that you young squirts take for granted.

Remember to check with your Dr. if you start taking a lot of vitamins/supplements because they can do bad things with certain types of meds - like Vitamin K helps with clotting so if you are on blood thinners - No Good! Stay away from K!

Well, another week has come and gone. I am now down 23 lbs, 29 inches. YEAH! Oh, but it is so much WORK! Not to mention - that I actually enjoy going to the gym for the workouts. Just don't like some of what some people say. Today, I told someone I'm dealing with loose skin due to the weight loss - she told me I had to fill it up! No WAY! It took to long to get rid of what was in there in the first place! I am trying to reduce my size - not make it bigger again! If you had a 40" waist and gotten down to 30" and the skin was loose, would you WANT to add back 10" - muscle or fat? I don't think so.

So anyway, enough of that already.

My decision is this: I cannot control what people around me do, so, act. What I CAN control is what I do - what I choose to eat, how I choose to exercise and how I choose to react to others. For every ACTION there is a REACTION - its just how you DECIDE to react. No matter what others in my life do, I am going to stick to my guns and follow this new healthy life I have CHOSEN for myself.

Keep up all the good work you ladies are doing.

Wow! I just read my first post - I have lost 8 lbs and 11 inches since I began posting here.

Almost 2 weeks have flown by since I was last here. Anyway 1 more lb to go and I'll be half the way to my goal. So I guess that means I will be counting up instead of counting down. Soon I will be saying 44 to go instead of 46 down.

It is now Aug 24 and I have lost some more - now only 45 lbs to go. So slow, but it is coming off. So far I have knocked off 34". I guess there is something to be said for weight lifting.
