Beginning @ 188.5 on last Monday, will weigh in each Monday (if I remember). Started the 7 day miracle heart patient diet (cabbage diet)on last Monday also. I know you all are going to say that aint healthy, but I have used it before & it is the only diet that actually works for me, I do add other fruits & veggies to those permitted though, and I am going to be on one week off one week, so it isnt like I am doing anything drastic. I just have to manage to watch my foods & especially my portions on the week I am off the diet. I am trying to make a life style change, not just a diet. I want to get into good eating habits by this summer cause I plan to also quit smoking once I can get out & walk & go places to keep my mind off the food. Hope this try works as good as it did the last time I lost 30 lbs!! LOL Good luck to all & Thanks for having me! Kayren

Karen! and welcome to the group! I wish you much success!

My biggest concern when doing any sort of "diet" is that when you are no longer doing it you often put all the weight back on. You are better to change the way you eat all the time so that when you get to your goal weight you just maintain what you are doing. It takes a little more time than a fad diet, but the loss is for life, not just the duration of the diet.
That said! We aren't going to tell you what to do!

Good luck with with quiting smoking! I quit after smoking for over 25 years. Replacing smoking with exercise (instead of food) is am GREAT way to keep the pounds off!

Thanks for the advise Slide, I am planning to make it a lifestyle change, I am just using the cabbage diet to get me motivated. I plan to use the cabbage soup as a 'filler' even after I go off the diet. I did this before & just watched the other foods that I ate & controlled my portions & I lost 30 lbs...then I gave up & gained it all back, started smoking again too...this time if I can do it again I will never go back to the bad eating & smoking. But I need that extra positive boost to motivate me I guess. LOL I long for my size 10s LOL

Kayren..............i have tried that cabbage diet before and i loved it....i love cabbage though but it didnt work for me as Slide said I gained it back plus more, I hope you have better luck with it but you said it worked for you. we weill be here for support hun....i understand about wanting those size 10....i was a size 28 almost 4 years ago....im now a 12 was an 8 gained bk my weight and thanks to Slide....here i am....we can do it WERE A TEAM OF CRAFTERS

Thanks guys for all the encouragement! Got a question though....I want to put my ticker in my signature line it is BB Code, where do I put it at? I have tried both places in the siggie thing & neither will make it show. TIA LOL never mind I got it

Ok, been looking around a bit & posting to journals too, kinda likin' it here. Have managed to lose a total of 4 lbs this week, not bad for my first week iin, even if most of it was just water weight! LOL..... Weight holding about the same, lost 6 lbs total now, but here is what I am about...

Beginning measurements: Hips 45', Waist 42.5', Bust 44'
Measurements now: Hips 45', Waist 41', Bust 43'

Thats 1.5 inches off my waist in 9 days! YES!!

I dont like the inch off my bust though!!

Great job on your inches too! and the 6 pounds I think everyone is really working at this hard and I think if we all really eat smaller portions and good healthy foods I really believe we all are going to make it a to our goals KEEP IT UP!
