Default isappb weight loss journal
Old 01-08-2009, 11:27 AM   #1 (permalink)

Hello, I have been looking at all of the weight loss journals and got really encouraged by your courage, determination and honesty so I decided I may as well jump on in with both feet. I have not started the weight loss program I am going to follow yet, I am starting on Monday. I lost 60 pounds in 1 year with this plan but then I quit smoking, sigh. Well it will be a year in Feb that I quit and figure I cant use that as an excuse any more. So Monday is my target day. I will be keeping a food diary and weighing and measuring my food. I will be eating 3 meals plus 3 snacks a day to start. This will of course be adjusted as the weight comes off. The most difficult part of this for me will be limiting my intake of dairy, lol, I am a big milk baby!!!!

I have been over weight for most of my life and have been up and down the scale. As I get older and have developed other issues like diabetes, arthritus, osteoperosis etc. I find it more and more difficult to get the weight off. I can't do some of the exercise things I once could so that makes it a little harder but a lot of it is just plain laziness on my part. I live in a place that has a gym on the grounds but have I ever used it? no, sigh, but I am going to beginning on Monday. I am deathly afraid of water but am going to be using the pool everyday this summer to walk in. My orthopedic Dr. said walking around the pool for 20 min is like walking 3 miles and no stress on my joints. When my kids were little it was a little easier because I was always on the run. These days I cant RUN anywhere, lol.

So, here is my pledge to myself, I Will do my best to be consistent, diligent, honest with myself and kind to myself. I will do my best to remember that I am doing this for ME, because I want to be healthier and feel better. I will NOT berate myself when I screw up (and I will) and I promise not to bore and annoy all those around me with tales of my trials and tribulations of weight loss.

Well, this is my beginning. I am hoping that with the love and support of my friends and family I can get back on track and do it.

Thanks for listening, I will keep you posted on my progress and I will be looking at yours. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! Together we can do this!!

Well, tomorrow is the big day. I have to tell ya, I am scared. I have tried and failed so many many times, sigh. All this cotton pickin stress isn't helping any either. Have mercy I havent even started yet and I am already making excuses and setting myself up to fail! I quit smoking, I CAN DO THIS!!! I am going to check out the gym in the am and see what is there that I can safely use and make myself an actual schedule to follow. I am going to go on Mon, Wed and Fri. If I go more than that I will probably kill myself I am so NOT in shape! I figure 20 min 3 days a week to start will be good after nothing for so long. I can adjust this up as I loose weight and gain strength and stamina. I am making my hubby go with me, lol. I know it is really stupid but part of my problem with this whole gym/pool thing is running into those tiny little exercise divas that look so wonderful in their gym clothes and string bikinis, lol. Okay Andrea, suck it up and deal with it, YOU CAN look great too if you work hard, okay, I think the panic attack is over, I am ready to proceed. My official weigh in is tomorrow morning. I am starting with a 3 day cleanse (lots of protien and raw green vegies and lots and lots of water). The only other thing I will be eating during this phase is a vitamin. This will help me get rid of some water weight and other junk in my system and help prepare my body for the good stuff I am supposed to eat. Going to bed now to pray myself to sleep!!!! I need help LORD!!!

Sounds like you have a pretty good plan, I used the cabbage soup diet for one week as my 'detox' LOL ....Anyway, dont let the stress get to you either, all those tense muscles will only be cause for injury. Just take it one day at a time & you will get thru it. And as far as those gals in those tight outfits, well, we just gotta buck up & remember we are gonna get there too, in time....

Welll here I am on my second day. I love meat and I love raw green vegies but for some reason when thats all you can have somehow it does not seem fulfilling or satisfying, lol. It is obviously an emotional and mental thing. The first day went ok but I was up all cotton pickin night going potty!!! I got my 64 oz of water in and felt somewhat waterlogged, lol, but not necessarily hungry, which is I guess, the point. I am looking forward to Thursday when we can start the next phase and get to eating some fruit and drinking some milk, even though it will be skim. I can deal with that. Tomorrow I weigh. Monday, Wednesday and Friday are weigh in days. Looking forward to losing some major water weight, lol. Hopefully that will encourage me to press on. Wish me luck!!!
