Okay, I decided to put my journal in too. Maybe if I stick to the journal, that it will help with any weight loss. I started Jan 5th on a eating more healthy kick for this year. Along with working out more when I get the chance. My goal is to lose at least 10-20 pounds, 30 if I'm lucky.
This is my week so far:
Monday~ Breakfast: small sausage patty, Lunch: Small salad with grilled chicken, 1- 100 calorie pack Golden Oreo Mini Cakesters, Dinner: Tuna salad and a grapefruit, Water all day.
Tuesday~ Breakfast: 2 oatmeal & raisin cookies, Lunch: baby carrots with ranch, 1- 100 calorie pack Golden Oreo Mini Cakesters, Dinner: Baked potatoe, Snack: twinkie, Water all day.
Wednesday~I finally got on the scales this morning. It said 160, so I hope it correct and not more or incorrect if less, but I doubt it's less. I'll check when I go by the gym tonight. Breakfast: Twinkie, Lunch: baby carrots with ranch, 1- 100 calorie pack Golden Oreo Mini Cakesters, Dinner~ I'm planning on another baked potatoe or tuna salad and small pumpkin pie slice for snack, Water all day.
Ack! I typed you a big long message yesterday and someone came along and closed my browser!!
I am not a nutritionist, however, it seems to me that you aren't eating enough! You may want to take your journal to your doctor and see what they have to say, but if you eat too little it makes it harder to lose the weight because your body stores every calorie it can
Sorry, I think it is not the amt. you are eating, but what you are eating. You need to eliminate all the sugars. You have had no protein, and dump the dip for the veggies. Lots of water is great!!!
I should shut my big yap, as I have not even started yet. Just trying to help. I will be getting my act together soon. Look for my journal soon.
If you are able, count the calories you take in for a few days you might want to aim for 1000 calories - but make them GOOD calories and Busia has a point, Tuesday you had no protien or dairy

HOWEVER! If you are eating 600 calories a day now... and you start eating more, you will need to increase your exercise as you eat more, or expect to gain some weight until your body is convinced that you aren't going to starve
You have to eat enough calories or your metabolism will be screwed up and you won't lose. A friend of mine ate very little (almost nothing) and could not lose weight. Her metabolism was way off.
Our calories should come from good food, not junk food. Darn!!!
You can do it!!!! A few adjustments and you will be all set. It's that will power thing that kills me.
lanak...I like the 100 calorie packs, especially the mine fudge stripe cookies. Since it's hard enough to give up chocolate.
Slide...I tried to pick the pace on the meals, but still not really keeping track of the calories.
Here's what I had the last few days:
Thursday~Breakfast: small pack of peanuts, Lunch: small salad w/grilled chicken, 100 calorie pack of fudge stripe cookies, Dinner: tuna salad, pretzels, Snack: small pumpkin pie slice w/lite whip cream. Water all day.
Friday~Breakfast: Nothing, Lunch: McD's snack wrap, Dinner: 2 KFC strips, Snack: fat free choc milk. Water all day.
Saturday~Breakfast: Frosted Flakes, Lunch: Noodles Cup of Soup, Snack: 100 calorie pack, Dinner: Grapefruit. Water all day.
I will try better meal choices tomorrow. It's harder on days I'm off.
Definitely keep eating 1000-1200 calories a day, more if you exercise a lot. If you dont your body will go into starvation mode & you will stop losing & your body will store anything it can get. I am using the cabbage soup diet but am adding other fruits & veggies & whole grains. I am getting about 1000 calories a day. This is my first week though & I am sure I will plateau after a month or so & need to cut down. ...Good luck with everything & just try to eat as healthy as you can & exercise as often as you can...it will come off.
