today, look at your diet... what do you eat that you should give up? Chips? pop? cookies (my weakness). NOW! plan to give them up... you can have them OCCATIONALY as a treat (like once a month?) but is your LIFE worth having that bag of chips / can of pop / cookie etc????? because for some of us, it is coming to that!!!
NOW!!! what AREN'T you eating that you should be?? MOST people don't eat enough veggies and fruit.... are you?
As an encouragement to others, you may want to post here what you plan to change! Remember, if everyone lurks and doesn't post, this won't work as well
i need to give up dr pepper and chips and omg we wont talk about chocolate.....and i have no will power.....and on top of that im a smoker.................im doomed
Then tell yourself that on x day (choose a day to treat yourself) you will sit down and ENJOY a bowl of chips... not mindlessly eat them in front of the television. replace your DR pepper with diet the next time you are shopping! AND every day replace one of your pops with a glass of water.... look at increasing that over the next few months, but start with ONE a day!
The quiting smoking is a whole other issue... I quit 6 years ago, so I KNOW how difficult it is!
i know that smoking is bad for me since ive had one stroke, but it calms me and i cant get use to diet drinks is there one out there that doenst taste like well u know
You need to be possitive Tashy! If you can't drink the diet ones, then maybe try to give up the pop sooner.
I understand what you are saying, because I don't like the diet pops either, but I gave up drinking pop insead of packing those useless calories in.
Some thing I have used in the past is to look at how many calories are in my desired treat, then do the equivelent exercise to wear off the calories (1/2 hour on the exercise bike 45 minutes walking... whatever it needs to be) when you put it in that perspective, often the treats aren't as important anymore... but sometimes it is worth it... THEN I enjoy the treat that much more because I KNOW it hasn't set me back by eating it! (also, I like to take off a few extra calories... if I need to spend 30 minutes on the bike I might spend 33 minutes... it isn't much, but it all adds up! the same as putting the calories in our body does!)
Tashy~ Diet Dr Pepper tastes pretty good! It's the whole mental thing....ewww - It's diet!
I need to work on my pepsi drinking. Is coffee with sugar no cream just as bad?
I also need to work on eating healthier non greasy foods. Cut back on take out and cook more at home. Not only will that help me with my fat itake but it'll save us $ too.
I have tried soup for lunch and I'm hungry again 2 hours later. I need to find something to go with it that'll "fill" me up for awhile.
Lanak... try menu planning and prepare as much as you can on the weekend! I find if I KNOW what I am going to cook, that is 2/3 of the battle... we certainly eat healthier when I plan ahead!
It's a must for me to lose some weight in 2009. I'm planning on no snacking at night unless it's something healthy. I also haven't been able to get to the gym as much as I want to. Since I'm not doing any shows until at least March or April, I can hit the gym for Zumba on Saturdays now.
