Since I have to... |

| My job requires that I maintain my physical fitness level. Being that I am nearing my thirties and the mom of two I am always continuing the struggle. I have always been on the larger side, not necessarily overweight but as a kid when they would give you those stupid charts with the graph and the little dot I was always toward the overweight side. If you don't know the chart be glad as I think for a child it is a confidence killer.
Anyway I would like to share my way to lose, it is nothing spectacular but it does not involve any crazy wonder drug or count your calorie program guide. It is something I can live with and alter it as I need.
All I do is watch my fat grams, no calories only fat grams. The great thing about it is as long as it has min fat I eat as much as I want.
If I am really trying to lose I go for 25 grams or less a day, this really brings the weight off. But don't starve find foods low in fat and you'll never be hungry.
Here are some examples of what I eat,
Bread and a lot of it, most has only 2 grams per slice
spaghettios are really low along with tons of soup
mac and cheese with half the butter the box calls for and skim milk
96% fat free hamburger
hamburger helper
bagels
ham
I also have to have sauces so I buy fat free everything from mayo to tarter sauce.
potato chips that are baked or even better the fat free ones with olean.
low fat ice cream or frozen yogurt
grilled cheese, I use a min amount of cheese and spray the bread with butter flavor cooking spray
I am not saying that this is a body cleansing the best nutritional diet but what it is a way that I can eat normal food with my family and they have no idea that it is low in fat. It takes a little time to figure out what is low but now I don't even have to think about it.
Oh and on the weekends once I hit my weight I eat what ever I want, and never gain a pound. If I am trying to lose I go for one crazy meal on sat or sun and am a little more reserved.
Hope this may help some of you as I am just not one that can do broiled fish and green beans with whole wheat dry toast.
