| I think I will get a new scale. This one is hard to read. I am weighing in as a heavy weight at 184lbs.
I am planning on losing 5lbs./month. A goal weight of 150 would be great, even better if I lost more.
I did, so, let's all fess up. C'mon ladies hit those scales.
Life is great and I would like to be around for a long time so I can enjoy it.
When I get this weight off I will be able to bend down and smell the roses.
Onward and upward to a new me!!!!

| I think I need one of those new fangled "Liar Scales". I don't like what mine has to say!! I am weighing in at 196 which really sucks when you are only 5'6". My goal is merely to lose at a steady rate until I get to a stage where I am content with what I see in the mirror. Ideally this would be a 50 pound loss but that sounds overwhelming so it will be "one pound at a time"! I put my game plan into effect at the beginning of the week and it includes:
-not allowing myself to work on the pc all day( which is so easy for me to do since my web site is my job!)
-removing all baking from the house (If I get really mean & desperate, I will run to Tim Horton's and have a donut then leave)
-stocked up on fresh veggies, fruit and yogurt
-getting out in the yard every day to do some physical work for at least 1 hour (when the weather is miserable, I have 2 rooms in the house that need a LOT of physical work)
- stocked up on sugar-free gum....my biggest downfall is at night, once I quit working and I'm just sitting around; that's when I want to munch. I find the gum helps curb the sweet tooth.
Well, that's my confessional for the day, Ladies! Good luck to everyone!

| It sounds like you are really on the ball. Good job!
I can't get rid of all the goodies in the house. My daughter and her 2 girls have moved in because she is getting a divorce. So, in addition to everything else there is all of that stress. Oops, I forgot that I have no excuses.
Good luck! | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to busia For This Useful Post: | | | Senior Member Level up: 19%, 5 Points needed |

| A walk in nature is a good stress reliever...and gives you a bit of personal time when the house gets too crowded | | | | | Moderator Level up: 33%, 288 Points needed |

| I have to get a scale. Will do that this weekend when I get to town.
Started eating a little more healthier yesterday and smaller portions.
I did take my measurements this morning. I have some inches to lose. Bust 45"-Waist 40"-Hips 42"
I did go for my walk last night, felt great when I got back.
Hopefully I will be walking every night after dinner, it seems to work for me better this way then in the morning, mornings are pretty busy around here to get much done.
The other thing I have to do is to cut back on my coffee. That is going to be a hard one for me to do. I love my coffee and caffine.
I will post more later. I am just getting ready for work.
Smiles and hugs

| You seem to be walking down the right path. I hadn't thought of taking my measurements. I've never done that.
I have to go downtown and get a new mattress, springs and frame. My daughter is getting us a new bed. Then it's back to washing the walls.

| well at the beinning of June I decided to - as the saying goes "Sh*t or get off the pot" - it was time to quit complaining about my weight and DO something about it! So I set a goal of 5 pounds - on Jan 15th I weighed 174 - today I weigh 169 and my goal for this month is 167 - I don't know if I will make it, but I sure am going try! I have been trying to get on my bike at least once a day, have cut out unhealthy snacks and have been eating more salads. I had a great start to the month, lost 2 pounds the first week (172 - 170) then got over confident and kinda stalled. so I got back at it on Sunday! | | | | | Senior Member Level up: 19%, 5 Points needed |

| Slide,
You are right on. Losing a small amount of weight at a time is the way to do it. You don't tend to get discouraged so fast.
I know we all have a lot of things going on in our lives. I intend to put my new lifestyle in the forefront and concentrate on it more for the first few weeks. I am doing this for me. I deserve it. | | | | |
