| Well the likly hood of me and Chad getting married is about 99.9 precent. Were living together to see if we can make it work.
Anyways, when we do get married it's gonna be done for under 1400 if not less. So far I have only bought 2 things. Paper for reception invites and a romantic castle cake set. We are doing justice of the peice since I can't afford what I really want.
We wont even start planning till sometime next year. We still have till feb 14th of next year in our probration time. I just bought the cake set cause it was so pretty and I am very sure.
So anyways, mom is getting atificial flowers done, but what do you ladies have ideas for other cost effetive stuff?.
I have attached a picture of the castle set to this post. | | | I know why I am messed...what is your excuse. | | Senior Member Level up: 30%, 164 Points needed |

| oh wow,,thats a nice cake ! I am not sure what kind of wedding you would like ,,,but I think a good old backyard wedding is great! Family style! Close friends & family,,heck it would be great if everyone would bring a dish or two!
I think if I was to ever get married again,,,it would be simple ,,very,, maybe only the 2 of us ,,,no big deal kinda thing!
We were dating back when we were teenagers and always hung out in the park ,,,so I think being married there would be just great!
I am sure you will get alot of help & ideas here! | | | | | Senior Member Level up: 32%, 167 Points needed |

| I want it in my parents back yard. But I don't know if I could find a preacher to do the ceramony. Plus i really grilled Chad and he said courthouse, but make my dress and stuff. So were going for coruthouse and a better recpetion.
I have no ideas what I am doing or anything. Lots of stuff is gonna be hand made. I hate that we have to be so cheap...but me, chad, and my g'ma are gonna be paying for this. Only thing mom is paying for if I can help it is my flowers. | | | I know why I am messed...what is your excuse. | | Moderator Level up: 36%, 315 Points needed |

| Randi...we had our wedding in our home for under $700.00...I bought my dress at Sears...hubby wore a grey suit...My daughters were my brides maids, they wore pink and lavendar dresses...My son walked me down the hallway...he wore white shirt/black pants... I cooked all the food myself and we had a buffet,we had turkey/roast/ham/salads/cheeses/pickles...The cost of the plates, utensils and napkins were under $50.00...the most expensive thing about the wedding was the cake, that was $125.00... We decorated the house ourselves...flowers/streamers and wedding bells...moved out all the furniture and the Justice of the Peace came to our home...the dinner was in the living room...we borrowed tables and chairs from the Legion...It was nice and simple...My sisters did all the flowers for me... When my son got married I did his wedding...the food/the centerpieces/the brides flowers/all the flowers for the guys/flower girl and the pillows for the ring bearers...I bought alot of the stuff at Michaels... | this is gonna be done like that to a point. I wanted to make my own flowers, but mummy said no. she would have her friend make them and she would pay. Our cake wont be that much. Just the mixes, frosting and whatever tips and stuff mom don't have.
No ring bearer or flower girl. I am only dressing me and chad. I am buying an evening dress pattern and having mom make it. So it will be cheap. It's gonna be mainly pink with a little white.
The best man, who might be my dad is gonna carry the rings in his pocket. We are skipping an engament ring cause I really don't like jewelry. But I found a simple band with a line of diamonds in it. tiny litty shards is all it really is. it's exactually like my mom's 10th aniversary band.
Making the food is not a bad idea. I don't really know if a lot of people would come though. Cause we have the Mder's and then the Vaer's. His family is mostly in RI. So they would have to come to va and then 2 more hours to my parents. Or we would have to rent a meeting room if we had it here. We only have a tiny one bedroom condo.
I love Michaels and have already been scooping out the neat stuff in the wedding section.
Me and mom are the crafters and grandma could help with food. I think the worst is figuring out where to have the reception.
We may have to do this fast. Cause once I get a job, I loose my SSI. I might beable to keep the medical insurance, but I might have to fight for it. | | | I know why I am messed...what is your excuse. | | Member Level up: 35%, 175 Points needed |

| I did the justice of the peace and I have been married 22 years now. A small dinner, wedding favors were simple boxes filled with almonds wrapped with a pretty ribbon. Simple and to the point. I did not even bother with the flowers. But they would have added a nice touch tough. The dollar store has a nice wedding section regarding decorations. | | | | | Senior Member Level up: 32%, 167 Points needed |

| My (first) wedding we got married with 30 people in a greenhouse chapel - all told I am certain it cost under $1000 - we had a small catered tea afterwards in a church basement (for the older family members) then had a potluck party at the house for the reception | | | | | Moderator Level up: 28%, 91 Points needed |

| My first wedding was in Texas. Our families lived in WI. We took the couple that stood up for us and a couple of good friends out for breakfast.
The second time it was at the court house and we took the best man and his wife, the matron of honer, my mil and a couple of friends out to dinner.
The best man's wife made the wedding cake as their gift.
My dh passed away after only 7 yrs.
This last time, it was at the court house, and we took the couple that stood up for us out to dinner.
You could have a reception in your mom's backyard if its during warm weather. | | | | | Senior Member Level up: 32%, 167 Points needed | | | |
