Default broken glass panel repair suggestions
Old 12-30-2003, 07:02 AM   #1 (permalink)

My goofy hubbie went and bought me a hutch, that was what I wanted. He went to pick it up and it flew out of the truck!!!Broke the stained glass cupboard doors, took a couple of chunks out of the back of it,dinged it up here and there. My question is....is there a way I can do the stained glass replacement myself? I`ve never done any mosaic or stained glass work before but would like to try it. I thought the cupboard doors might be a great starting spot. If so, how and where and what????

Thanks fellow crafting buddies!!!!

Here's one site that has a pictoral to take you through the basics.

how to make stained glass

You can also buy something at Wal-Mart...I'm not sure what it's called but it is similar to this. It's located in the crafts department. You could try Michael's or some other craft shops for ideas too. Your local library might offer books or tapes on the subject that could be very helpful to you also.

P.S. Have you thought about using tin punch or copper wire in the place of the glass? Just a thought..... The tin punch could be done on copper if you wanted.
