Xmas Clear Glass Ornaments Inside Swirl Painting

Take a clear xmas ornament not the small but the medium size and Delta Ceramcoat Acrylic paint ( you can mix two to three different colors depending on what you would like), open top of ornament and squeeze straingth down or tip slightly and let it slide down the inside of the glass, than take another color and go to the other side and if you want take a third and go in between on each color( but not a hold lot of paint I usally star of with a small amount than I can see what kind of design I have, put thumb over top and shake, tip upside down all around, till glass is all colored, have ready a paper cup and cut it so glass ornament will sit up away from bottom upside down so that excess paint can drip out, takes a couple of days to dry.

I did a bunch of these several years ago...

instead of shaking them I just rolled mine around and that gave a really cool effect when the paint swirled together. Then when they were dry I embellished them with gold cording, holly leaves & berries, ribbon roses and stuff like that.

This would be a really great craft to do after Thanksgiving dinner!

The main thing is to have fun with it!!!

[img]images/smiley_icons/wavey.gif[/img] I just went last night to an ornament decorating party where we made glass ornaments using the gallery glass. My friend bought a bunch of the clear glass ornaments and the glass paint and we all had fun sitting around talking and decorating. One woman put the paint inside her ornament and as it dried on the inside, it really looked pretty reflected through the glass since the paint dries to see through colors! We used stickers, glitter, beads and sequins to decorate also while the paint was tacky. Even the older kids joined in and had fun!
