Default Son leaving for boot camp in July
Old 05-23-2009, 04:16 PM   #1 (permalink)

He joined the Marines been working with them for over a year though doing PT and such before he joined so he knows it is something he wanted to do.
He graduates in a couple weeks. I am so proud of him and so sad at the same time.
He is my middle child (of 5 children) I find myself bursting into tears now and then happy and sad tears. ugh we are going to throw him a big going away party.

Who else has children leaving for the military soon? and how do you deal?

I do not have any children or grandchildren in or going into the military at this time but I do remember how it felt when my little brother went. It is such and emotionialy confusing thing. I can relate to all of those happy/sad feelings. God Bless your family and especially your son for his courage!! Please pass on to your son my best wishes, my prayers and my gratitude and pride!

Years ago in the early 80's my daughter went into the Navy and my son into the Army.
I understand the tears of joy and being proud and the tears of sadness.
You take one day at a time and you learn to deal with it.
I will keep him in prayers.
