Smile Little beanies
Old 08-24-2008, 04:29 AM   #1 (permalink)

Hi, I am looking for a sewing pattern for a lizard or gecko, and a frog. They are just small and filled with small beans. I have seen them made with the shiny sequiny material, and the bottom of them is just normal corderoy etc. I think the lizard is only about 8 or 10" long. Any ideas where I can get the patterns from would be appreciate.d

I couldn't find any sewing patterns but did come across this site if you wanted to crochet a frog:roman sock: Tutorial: Tree frog
I thought this looked cute. You can add beans in it but I'm not sure where you would find glass eyes. You can probably just use black buttons. There are other cute animals on the site, as well, to make.

Very much for your reply, I have now got the pattern, but have to find out where I can get the material that looks like a gecko (or lizard), I will go shopping next weekend. Tried in Spotlight (Christchurch NZ) yesterday but they had nothing. Wish we had the big Craft shops like Michaels here in New Zealand.

I have an idea! If you have a thrift store, then maybe you'd find something there like a dress or pants or curtains, etc..... to cut up. Sometimes when I'm desperate for fabric I get lucky when I go to my local thrift store and it's also for a good cause.
