Don't worry. You'll get it. I would start by learning how to thread the machine and thread the bobbin. Then, get a piece of fabric you don't care about and try running some stitches down the fabric. Turn the dial a little to see how big and small they get.
Here's a link to laying out your pattern:Laying Out A Sewing Pattern
Also, here's a link to downloading your manual: It's much easier to flip through a book sometimes over watching a dvd:User manual SINGER 1507 - User guide SINGER 1507 - English - Diplodocs

I can understand how frustrating it must be to not know how to get started.

Hi Teresa,
Thank you so much for the websites. I think they will really get a lot
of use by me, lol. I am going to learn how to sew even if it kills me.
I know I am being a pain, but it has got to sink in my head.
I learned how to make my own jewelry from on line and make cakes, why can't I do this. I think it's because I am being too hard on myself, thats what hubby said. STAY HEALTHY, Lori

Lori, you are being too hard on yourself. Relax and take it one step at a time and in six months you will not even remember how hard it was in the beginning.

I know, it's just it's very discouraging when you really want to learn
and you can't seem to get it. I hope you are right about 6 months.
Then I will laugh about it. Well maybe, I will laugh after a year.
STAY HEALTHY, Lori
