Hi Lori
Sorry took me a while to get back. I have been inundated trying to keep up with lots of stuff. Just spent today bathing three kittycats and getting pictures and info out.
You know I just surf for my patterns. I do buy some but I also do some surfing. Visit places like the online craft malls and look for their freebies. Lots of crafters offer freebies.
My other resource is the library! I am a bookworm, so that is natural to me... try checking Crafters Marketplace, primitive crossroads.com....etc
lots of crafters listed and they offer freebies!
Good luck!

Susie

Lori,
Susie is right, there are lots of free patterns out there. I am always surfing the net for new ones. It all depends on what you want to make. You said something about tote bags and there are several free ones on the net for these. Just google what you are looking for and it is probably there. As for thread, I mainly use Clarks and Coats because it is the cheapest and the most widely available. Do buy yourself extra bobbins so that when you change colors of thread you will have the bobbins. There are two different sizes of bobbins so make sure you get the one that is right for your machine. I probably have a hundred bobbins because I hate to stop and wind bobbins in the middle of doing something. I will do up several bobbins at a time in the basic colors of white, beige and black as these are the most used colors. Hope you machine comes soon and you become one of the craftholics like the rest of us.
