| I love working with fleece. Recently I made a blanket for my grand daughter.
Buy a yard of one color. Fold the material in half. Cut long strips but don't cut all the way to the ends. Buy another color and cut the strips in three inch wide sections cutting all the way so you have long strips of clothe. Take those strips and weave them through the other piece of material. Straighten out the squares when finished weaving. Use lightweight fusible webbing over the woven part. If you want to you can sew along the edges but not necessary. Take some lightweight batting and a complimentary color of fleece to sew as the backing. Sewing with the wrong side out, sew along the edges to bring the edges together. When that is done use something to punch two holes (side by side) all the way through both surfaces. Make sure it comes up under a square and won't be seen. Use pretty ribbon to pull through and push through both holes and tie it together on the back side of the blanket. Just like you were finishing a quilt. If you have any questions just ask! |
