Some great gift ideas for seniors

I work at a nursing home and there are always things our residents want but some families never think about.
shampoo and conditioner (most homes provide some but it is not as good as it could be)
perfume/cologne
nice scented lotions, body wash (even the men like to have these in manly scents like old spice)
slippers (1 pair doesn't last forever)
greeting cards or stationary (include stamps so they can mail them) if you know the person well an address book in large print with friends and family is great or pre printed envolopes with this information
for those in a home/long term care facility a "guest" book to have visitors sign so they can remember who came to see them ( one created for a wedding works well, the person can write thier name on the first line, the date on the second and the reason for the visit or what they did special on the 3rd)
