Acid free? |

| There is a lot of concern about using acid free materials when making a scrapbook. Depending on the type of book you are putting together, I don\'t think this has to be the case.
Is this photo irreplaceable? (do you have a negative?) If the photo can not be replaced, then be careful that you are using acid free, or even better, make a copy print (or a copy negative and print) and use the copy in the scrapbook. Due to copyright laws, you may have difficulty doing this if the photo was proffesionaly taken
If You can reproduce the photo at a later date, then I say have fun! Acid free is to save the photo from yellowing over time - if you can make another copy if you ever need it, then why restict yourself? I have to wonder how long it takes to \"ruin\" a photo when I look through old photoalbums from my parents or grandparents that had never heard of acid free! |
