Question Picking the right "Shopping Cart" for CC use

Does anyone use an Authorize net account? What is the best and/or least expensive "Shopping Cart" for adding to a website?
I've just spent the last hour searching and now I am sooooooo over whelmed.
All advise is welcomed.

when I used a site where I had to do my own cart I used Paypal. the others require merchant accounts if I am correct.

My host uses Mals E...but it's a pain and I couldn't get the shipping to work out right which is why I do a flat rate shipping for all orders. Mals is free.

I use Pay Pal all the time and find that is the easiest and the best protection for buyers and sellers...
