| I am a tole painter, and I cut out my own wood. I was in need of some major money. I have 4 kids and coudn't think of anything. then I got a good idea! I called up a Micheals store(craft store) and ask the manager how I can teach a class there. She gave me the information. She needed a sample so I sent one to her through the mail(because my nearest micheals is 2 hours away) and then she called back and said she would love for me to do a class. This was right before christmas. I charged 48.00 for a 24 inch project. it included the pattern and the wood. I had 20 people.(the maximum kits that I made) Micheals only charged 35.00 for 2 hours! It was great.
*** So call up your local craft stores and see if they need instructors!
Also what I do now is advertise in my local paper for "Tole Painting" parties! and I do those only about 2 saturdays a month. these are huge hit! espeacially if you say you can travel. I have done them at peoples churches for huge groups.
I also do scrapbook parties. but don't get paid as much with scrapbooking.
If you would like to know more about setting up your business by doing this, please let me know and I can post it or email some information to get you started. |
