My knee has 2 open sores from where they clamped leg down during surgery (blisters that opened - not uncommon) and they have been draining, were worse this afternoon along with knee was really swollen more than it had been.
I dont normally freak over stuff like that, but for some reason did this time
So off we go to ER - Doc looked over knee said it looks good for 5 days post op and the open sores are draining "normal" for skin sores like that - now it it had been surgical wounds draining like that he would have been concerned.
he put me on 7 days antibiotics as a precautionary, which I usually wouldn't do, but said "thank you" as this just has me freaked.
I see surgeon on Thursday for postop check - ER doc said if temp goes way up or other problems just come back but he thought I'd be fine, just keep it clean every day, and clean bandages and ice which I've been doing
Back home to one Bouncy happy Annabelle - how dare we leave and go out without her
If you all could please keep me in your prayers that I dont' have an allergic reaction to the meds they put me on -
I'm so limited to what antibiotics I can take and this so far has been one I do ok with and am praying I do not develop a reaction to.
Therapy is going ok - twice a week then exercises at home on the other days
Weening off the pain meds, boy those first two weeks that knee really hurt ! Doc said they did a lot more than they anticipated and that's why pain was so bad.
Hopefully on the upswing now !
