I spent 6 hours in the ER yesterday. Every once in a while I get a "stomach flu" that makes me not be able to hold anything down. I can usually get ahead of it before I dehydrate. Not yesterday, so I went in.
The doc decided to find out what was causing this (what a novel idea)
Turns out that after all these years (this has happened multiple times) it has been my gallbladder!
I have 4 "orbs", not stones, orbs. 4 large balls at the bottom of my gallbladder blocking the bile. Any amount of fat can set it off.
They (a surgeon was consulted) can't understand why I'm not in pain.
So, I consult another surgeon today to arrange to have my gallbladder removed....
Laura you will be in my prayers. My niece had her gall bladder out a little over a year ago and did fine. My DD also had her gall bladder removed just a few months ago and has also done fine. I pray all the best for you.
Hugs, Paula

Sending you some virtual and a get-well
Be happy they found out in time, a couple of years ago my mum suffered a not-recognized galblatter illness and almost died from the blockage. She needed emergy surgery but she is fine now, thank God.
Wishing you well.

Laura, you have my prayers. I had my gall bladder removed a couple of years ago. On my birthday no less. But, I have been fine ever since. Not sure what set it off, but I ate a piece of leftover pizza and a couple hours later, I had such bad pain that I was sure I was having a heart attack. It was horrible. Nothing like that ever before and nothing like it ever since. Glad for that! No problems with the surgery. It was pretty easy. 3 or 4 little incisions and that's it. Piece of cake!
