| Well, we put him in his box/crate for a bit we had unexpected company and he was getting stressed out) and when we checked on him an hour later (because we noticed he quit whining) he was unconsious. We took him to the emergency hospital and they put him on iv's with dextrose because his blood sugar had dropped to 29. I had been giving him the vitamin paste the breeder told me to give him 4 times a day to keep his blood sugar up but.... anyway the hospital kept him all night, we picked him up the next am and took him to his regular vet appointment. he kept getting sicker and sicker on the way. they hooked him back up ran a bunch of tests and said he has a liver shunt. will cost appx $6000 to fix. We took him back to the breeder,I sat in the car hysterical while my husband took him in. she gave us our money back and assured us that in a week she would have him feeling fine and chipper. She said if I want him then she will give him back to me at no charge(because we spent over $700 for all of this). she said she was a vet in her native romaina but not recognized here and all the vets around here just milk you for money. she says they are wrong, she goes through this all the time with tcup chi's. any way I am a complete and utter basket case. I love the little guy to pieces and my heart says get him, but my wallet says where would I get 6 grand for surgery for the poor little guy. I called her today to see how he is and she said he is fine, she has him on antibiotics and he was even outside playing in the yard with the other dogs today. who do I believe? I have been crying for 3 days. It seems so silly but when I went to see the dogs, I sat down she went and got a him and a little female long hair. they both sniffed around the room a bit then he sat down in front of me cocked his little head as if to say, okay I am ready to go home now, I have been waiting for you, and he stole my heart. What am I going to do,,,,, I cant stop crying. | | | Money talks but Chocolate sings!!

| You must be going thru hell - my heart goes out to you and I'll keep good thoughts and prayers going your way. Will the breeder let you take the little guy back to your vet for a follow up to see if he is really better? That is sooo much money.

| thank you so much for your prayers. you people are a godsend. My husband understands how I feel and is very supportive but others think I am just crazy, I have had people tell me I could not possibly have bonded with this dog that fast, well, they are wrong, I have and I am totaly torn up over this. This is so hard. Thank you again | | | | | Senior Member Level up: 17%, 123 Points needed |
