| Here are some pictures of the day of sifting we did at my friends house on Sunday!!
There was a great turn out to try and find some of their belongings!!
We found a lot of coins and some of the jewellery they thought would never have survived, but we found most of it!!! | | | | | Moderator Points: 24,742, Level: 68 | Level up: 69%, 158 Points needed |

| It is wonderful seeing so many coming together to help a friend. It looks like a tiring and dirty job. I'm so happy that you found some things for them. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to busia For This Useful Post: | | | Moderator Points: 24,742, Level: 68 | Level up: 69%, 158 Points needed |

| There was 2 piles of chard stuff, most of the larger items where already pulled to other piles. We were so covered in black soot when we finished!!LOL We all had dirty feet, arms and legs and even though we had gloves on our nails were just black!!!
You can see the sifters they made up ahead of time, they had wire mesh small enough that a dime couldn't get through!!! My SIL and I worked in the shade of a couple nice tree's and some one was nice enough to give us an umbrella too, but others worked right out by the pile in the sun!! | | | Hugs!!

| I can't imagine losing everything like that! It must have been devastating for them! They were very lucky to have so much friends and family willing to help them find what they could salvage. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to neeterthings For This Useful Post: | | | Member Level up: 12%, 124 Points needed |

| How rich that family is in friends that so many of you helped them to do such a heart and back-breaking job. When I read the title of your post I had hoped there was a joke here somewhere and sadly the title was true to topic.
I wish your friends well and am glad they were able to find some of their treasures amongst the ashes. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Michele For This Useful Post: | | | Moderator Points: 24,742, Level: 68 | Level up: 69%, 158 Points needed |

| I am afraid they are still numb. Anne said she still hasn't cried and I just told her it will come when the time is right and just to let it happen!!
These 2 people are a couple of our best friends and they are very loving people!! They are the first to help out when needed. They are also retired early like us and my brother
They are very fun loving and good people and we would have been crushed if they had been killed in that fire!! We are so greatful that we were with them the morning of the call, to help ease their pain!!
All weekend at the Jamboree we were joking about STUFF as The comedian George Carland had died and we all liked him. So we are still joking around with them as they have to buy all NEW STUFF!!!
One of the first things said to me after the call is "OH NO!!! NOW I HAVE TO BUY MORE STUFF" and we all lauhed!!!! | | | Hugs!!

| How wonderful to have so many friends! They may have lost thier stuff, but they saw that they still had what matters most, you.
Thanks for the pictures and the reminder that it's all "dust". Laura | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Laura687 For This Useful Post: | | | Moderator Level up: 29%, 131 Points needed |
