| This may be a stupid question, but they don't have thanksgiving in Australia? I will set an extra plate at our table and will be thinking of you. | | | | | Moderator Level up: 29%, 74 Points needed |

| We always go to my parents for dinner. Then me, my sister and my mother sneak out in the afternoon to what few stores are open for sales. That night I make my list of stores to hit the next day on Black Friday.

| Hi! Our family traditions include the following. I get up around 6 am. I start getting our turkey dressed!:D Then I do the last minute stuff with all the trimmings. Next, I run around getting all my candles going and finishing cleaning up this and that. I also try to get some decoration up for Christmas. So, I'm a busy woman! Next, I try to sit down and watch the parade. That use to me one of my many favorite things to do with my mom and grandmother...couldn't wait until Santa came! I still love that moment...it's just not the same. This year I really have a lot to be thankful for...my dad has come through two major surgeries. I will make his favorite scalloped oysters...just hope he's up to eating them. Anyway over the year's I have many ups and downs over Thanksgiving. I'll never forget my first Thanksgiving dinner I was making. I never realized my oven had broke. My mom sat there and she goes "I don't smell the turkey cooking. When did you put it in the over"? I told her "around 8 am". Anyway come to find out my element had broke! Then a few year's later my brother and sister in law came from Florida. So again I tried Thanksgiving for a large group. This time everything was going good until...my house started filling up with smoke...come to find out the aluminum pan had a hole in it. So, dummy me tried to clean up the mess with a towel. Not thinking I just throw the towel over on my washer. The day went on we ate our dinner...which by the way was delicious...then we sat there watching football and there was a smell. Well, guess what the towel started a fire. Thank God we hadn't let the house to go to relatives for dessert. Anyway since then I have grown quite a bit and things have been going a lot smoother. Thank God! I hope you all enjoyed a good laugh. I hope everyone has a very ! | | | | | Junior Member Level up: 15%, 20 Points needed |

| We go to mil's house and about half the family shows up and the half that shows up, all they do is complain. Then on my mother's house to eat cold food. Even though she is taking things out of the oven as we arrive, it is still cold. That is the great mystery. I'm with the gal who posted about going somewhere like a private cabin. I keep telling my two dd that grandmoms won't be around forever one is 791/2 and the is 68. When they get married, it will be Thanksgiving at our house and their inlaws! And whomever wants to come , can! | | | | | Junior Member Level up: 15%, 20 Points needed |

I do well with casseroles and soups. My husband refused to eat my cooking and he did all the cooking, I has been gone now for 12 years and I sure miss his cooking. Now, I have to eat mine. I am not fussy though, I can eat it hot or cold. Have a great Thanksgiving. May your food be hot. God bless your week.

| It's just my husband (of 34.5 years) and myself for Thanksgiving. I do the cooking and the cleanup and am O.K. with that. I cook too much and we eat too much, then usually we pick a DVD to watch. I will be working on cross stitch projects and/or felt ornaments. I look forward to Thanksgiving week every year. I have much to be thankful for. I hope all who read this have a most joyous Holiday season! MaryO | | | | | Moderator Level up: 31%, 252 Points needed |

| Hello everyone. Just wishing everyone a very joyous, and fullfilling Thanksgiving. I am cooking dinner at home. My son Corey and his wife Marissa of 1 month will be celebrating with us. I also have a daughter, Bethany still at home and perhaps her boyfriend will eat with us. The more the merrier. We have the traditional dinner, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, creamed onions, turnip, cauliflower, corn, greenbean cassarole, rolls, pickles, olives and homemade pies. It's a lot of work, but my 80 yr old mom who lives with me helps. It is all worth it. Anyway, enjoy. Debbie | | | | |
