Oh she loves the car. We've been taking her for rides since she was a baby. She even came back to the midwest by car with us when we moved -- no problems.

Unfortunately it is the vet -- or at least the smells, doggie encounters, the association with pain, etc. She is also not declawed (we do not believe in it) so vets tend to be afraid of her and she can sense that -- she hisses and they back off.

We don't want to bring a vet here because we want her to always feel safe at home. But we do have several other options. We still have some cooling off to do before we can make a decision -- but we have time. Right now we don't want our baby traumatized any more. Looking back we realize the blood draw should have been stopped -- either by the vet or us. This was totally preventable. She was fine till he missed on the first stick. But don't they say that hindsight is always 20/20?

Just an update. Our kitty finally seems to be back to her "normal" self. We had been worried because she wasn't eating much. But she must have finally gotten hungry and was wolfing down everything in sight yesterday. She was also more active. We were afraid there might have been some permanent damage but didn't even want to say it out loud.

But everything now seems to be fine. We will worry about what to do about the vet later. I do think she used at least a couple of her nine lives on this one.
