Default Do I have "FEED ME" on my back?
Old 06-30-2008, 09:46 PM   #1 (permalink)

Well The Raccoon Family Has Been Around At Night. I Haven't Seen Them But The Food Is Gone In The Morning. But Now I Have A Sweet Young Very Pregnant Cat Hanging Around Who Is Hungry. It Breaks My Heart. She Is Very Prego. She Comes To The Back Door And Stares At The Window On The Door. I Am Putting Cat Kibbles Out For Her. She Is A Very Pretty White Cat With Grey Markings. I Know She Isn't A Year Old Yet. I Worry Where She Is Going To Have Her Kittens. I Would Like To Strangle People Who Get Pets And Then Don't Care For Them. Now I Am Worried The Mother Raccoon May Get The Kittens. This Is Really Stressing Me Out. Will Keep You All Informed On The Rest Of The Story. I Hope My Husband Doesn't Throw Me Out.

You'll be able to open your own petting zoo before long Apple.

I hate to say this, but do you realize by putting food out for the cat you're actually attracting the coons? It could actually end up hurting the cat because the coons will fight for the food.
Do you have an animal control office in your area? Or a humane society? Someone to take the cat in so the kittens don't become strays too.

Thanks for having such a good heart.

Becare with the momma coon, especially with rabies. Raccoons must be smarter than I thought. My coon tore open a bag of horse feed last night. I saw little muddy foot prints in a bucket near the dog pen.

The Cat Is Around During The Daylight And Gets Food Before Dark And The Raccoons Come. I Don't Know If Animal Control Can Catch This Cat. People Dump Animals Off On Me Because They Know I Love Animals. I Have 4 House Cats Who Are Well Cared For And Get All Their Shots Etc. I Can't Take In Anymore. I Had One Stray Who I Found A Home For And It Has Such A Good Home. There Is A Family 2 Streets Above Me That Has Cats And Lets Them Breed And Breed. I Think They Have About 28 Of Them All Over Their Front Porch. I Know Animal Control Has Been There Several Times.

Apple, I live out in the country so I deal with coons, and all kinds of wild critters... They used to get into the bag of cat food I had in the garage (even with stuff pilled up on the bag), but they always seemed to find a way to get into the food. Now, what I do is leave food out for our outside cat during the day and then at night I bring the food in the house. This seems to have helped stop those other critters from bothering our cat's food and from coming around.

Angry Shame

I feel so upset when pet owners do not take care of their animals...... I think owners should apply for a licence to have animals. Then they would think twice before getting an animal.

Yeah, well.....getting a pet is almost as easy as having a baby, at least where we are at to get a pet you have to prove you have a stable home.

Sorry, but we have been reading alot of horro stories about people who have no business having kids (let alone pets) lately, they have been too many kids being sent to the hospital lately because of parental abuse....

I will get off my soapbox now!!

You have every right to stay on your "soap box" You have only expressed what a lot of us here wish we had or have said many times already!!
