Horses & Dogs & a Cat, Oh My! |

| We live in a rural area of Kentucky. LOL! Bet some people think it's ALL rural, but anyway...
The pets:
We have four dogs. One, I lovingly refer to as a "chausador"...he's a chow, australian shepherd, labrador mix...his name is Grizzle. Then we have Sally - a german shepherd mix, Maggie - an australian shepherd, and Girl - a bull terrier (she isn't ours, we inherited her from our son).
And then there are the three horses: two breeding stock paints (which basically means they have no white on their bodies...just white on their faces and legs) Kiera, Bucket, and a blind quarter horse mare, Stoney.
Bucket is a "character." He's chock full of personality and we often are amused by his antics. He HATES bees. And in the summertime, when one is after him, he'll come running to the house and stand on our front porch, stomping his feet until we come out and spray him with fly spray. He plays "catch" all by himself with a large plastic container that has a rope attached to it. Throws it into the air .... and then, well, I guess I shouldn't call it "catch" because he never catches it. But he'll walk to where it landed and kick it around. And the process starts all over again.
Finally, there's Ashes, the cat and the lord of his domain. The dogs cringe when he passes through. The NOSIEST animal I've ever seen. Anytime something, anything, new comes into the yard or the house (such as a strange vehicle or a box or an article of clothing), he has to walk in or on it and/or sleep in it.
That's our gang! |
