Default 5th Grade Tea (Graduation)
Old 04-01-2008, 12:45 PM   #1 (permalink)

Help!!!! I'm in the mist of planning a 5th Grade Tea, nothing formal. We call it a Tea because of maybe one or two of the students won't be moving on to the middle school. We can't call it a graduation. There's 24 kids in Scotty's, (my son), class and I need some over the top ideas without the over the top expense. The kids have been together since kindergarten and we want to make their party very special. Anyone having any ideas that would like to share, please, I would greatly appreciate it.

Love and Hugs,
Barb:thanks::usa:

I can't come up with anything right now, you could also post your question on the Help A Crafter Board. You might get more responses there.
Hugs, Paula

Hey Barb!

One idea that we did for my oldest son's 8th grade graduation was to make a collage of pictures for each kid. This may be kind of difficult as there are so many kids (my son's class had 8 kids - small town) and it requires family participation. Anyway, each kid was given the task of making a collage of pictures of themselves from birth to the day of graduation. They could make it anyway they wanted with as many or as few pictures as they had or wanted. The collages were put on poster board and hung around the school gym for everyone to look at. It was pretty fun and interesting to see each kid as they grew.

Another idea might be, since they have all been together since Kindergarten, is to collect all of the class pictures (if they're available) from each year and put them all on a board to be displayed so everyone can look at them. My classmates did this at our 10 year reunion. It was fun to look back at ourselves so long ago.

Ummmm......... I'll keep thinking. :think:

Ooooh....... Here's another idea for like a table decoration.............

Cookie flower boquets! Cut out cookies (usually sugar, but I'm thinking almost anything would work) in the shape of flowers. Place a skewer in each one like a stem and bake. Decorate the cookies like flowers with pretty colored frosting. Let dry. Place some florist foam inside of small terra cotta flower pots (big enough to not be too top heavy from the cookies). Stick the skewered cookies into the foam in the pots. Cover the foam with green raffia or Easter grass. Decorate the pots with more raffia, or ribbons. You could even have the kids help decorate the cookies and pots. If each child made one, they could give it to their mom, dad, grandparent, etc. after the Tea.
