Default Spider-man birthday
Old 09-16-2002, 01:53 PM   #1 (permalink)

I thought I'd share what I did for my son's 7th birthday party. He is a big fan of spider-man so a theme was no problem. We planned a "mission" for the boys to go on as the party game. As each guest arrived the got a envalope with a card inside that had a letter (A,B,C,orD) and a blank name tag. While they waiter for others to arrive they got to pick out a code or superhero name and draw their symbol. The card with the letter on it told them which mission they were to go on and whoever had the same letter would be their partener. I froze a note in a big block of ice and tied spider-man to it. To start the misson they had to untie spider-man and my husband broke open the ice to get the note. It said the Green Gobblin stole all the loot bags and all of Ryan's birthday presants (my husband hid them as people came in) and it was up to them ot find them. The note also gave the order and directions on how to get to the Green Gobblins hide out.

1. First two agents had to take out the guards. We used empty 2 liters bottle and they threw water balloons. Once completed the got a sceret password and a clue.

2. Next them had to demine the lake. We had plastic Easter eggs floating in the pool. they had to get all of them out and find the password and clue.

3. third team had to make it pass the sensor floor and back. We used our snow tiers and they had to jump from tier to tier without falling off grad the password and clue.

4. Last group had to go through the Green Gobblins trash blindfolded so the toxic waste wouldn't hurt their eyes. We put noodles and slime and stuff in a big barrel and hid the password and clue inside the "trash".

Now they had the passwords and clues. The clues told them which path to take to get to the hide out. Over the slide, through the tunnel, across the balance beam, and take out the guards. Once they did that they went to the tent and had to say the full past word to get inside and get a loot bag. The password was Happy 7th Birthday Ryan.

For cake I just made cupcakes with little plastic spiders on them. we also froze spiders in the ice cubes. The boys got a kick out of that. The loot bag were just the plain kind with a spider-man sticker on it, much cheaper. I also just bought a spider-man table cloth and used blue and red cups and plates from the dollar store.

The party was a big hit. We found three hours to a perfect amount of time for the party.
