Hi I am new to this site and I am looking for a pattern for a fathers day hat rack. I need something simple as I am working with young children. It is so hard to find something useful and easy for father's day. I have been reading messages and stuff about this site and everyone seems nice and helpful. I usually use kid craft sites but they have no way of messaging for ideas. Looking forward to hearing from someone about my request. Thank you! Debbie Maloberti

Don't know if this is too much for young children...but you could put them together and let the children paint them...Take a strip of wood....nail or screw hinged clothes pins to them. These would be for ball caps, that would be held by the clothespins by the adjustment part in the back of the ball cap. Need any more info..don't hesitate to get in touch with me. And hope this helps!

Debbie, you picked a hard one for us--there are hat rack patterns available, but they call for scroll cutting, drilling, sanding, etc. Not suitable for daycare children.
I thought of a simpler idea for a hat rack--(I use it for sweaters, light jackets & hats)--that is an accordion rack--they are fairly cheap at the discount stores--and let the kids paint them.
Or buy a plain wood plaque and several screw-in drawer knobs--pre-drill the holes--insert the knobs--let the kids sand and paint. all this hardware could be found at any discount hardware store.
Whatever you do--I wish you all the best of luck! And God bless you for your work with children!
