Handpainted Canvas Floorcloth
Traditionally used to protect and decorate floors, these thick canvas rugs are inexpensive to make, hold up beautifully, and clean with a wet mop. They are more labor-intensive than scrapbooking, but give it a try, you'll find it is easier than it sounds plus you will get a family heirloom when it's done! Once you've applied several base layers of paint, begin painting your memories. Five or six coats of polyurethane finish it off. A floorcloth can of course be a canvas for just about anything: you could commemorate an anniversary, serve as a game board, or be purely decorative.

This is a great way to preserve memories.
