| I recently did a tray using this technique and wanted to share. It is so easy and turns out so elegant............ First basecoat with a light color paint then light a candle, I use cheap $ store candles or citronella candles, then place a fork or spoon in the flame to produce smoke............ as the smoke is rising hold your piece over it moving around to create the smoke swirls. Turn your piece over often to check how much and where the smoke swirls are. When you are happy with the piece spray with a matte sealer, this seals it and your smoking won't rub off. Leave the piece like this or tole paint over it, this is a quick easy way to have an elegant piece in minutes........... Important: Make sure to seal before painting. Have fun painting......................
