| I thought these tips might come in handy:
Whenever you use your brushes be sure not to get paint up in the ferrell......... That is the metal part that holds the bristles in.
Your brush basin has ridges on the bottom to lightly rake your brush across as soon as you are done painting with one color or when paint moves too far up the bristles.
As soon as you are done rinse you brush under cool running water, when most of the paint is out apply brush cleaner and run your bristles back and forth on the palm of your hand, repeat this process until it looks like all the paint is out of your brush.
Then apply brush cleaner again and shape bristles back to original shape. Let your brush dry this way laying flat. Turning your brush bristle side up to dry can cause the wooden handle to crack.
A good test to see if all the paint is out of your brush is to run it across a bar of white soap, if any color comes out in the lather repeat this process until the lather is clear. I do this in between cleanings and when I am going to switch colors. I use a non moisturizing soap such as Ivory. |
