Mixed Pickles
Slice green tomatoes & cover with salt & water; let stand 3-4 days; then boil tender in water & a little vinegar. Drain well; then put a layer of tomatoes in a jar and sprinkle with whole
allspice,cinnamon,cloves & thinly sliced horseradish;a layer of shredded cabbage(lightly salted) & a layer of onions.Repeat until jar is filled; putting spices between each layer. Cover the whole with boiling vinegar. seal in a hot water bath method |
