newbie question about yarn

I found a project to do using plastic canvas which I figured couldn't be too hard. I am using 10 mesh canvas and instructions called for heavy braid. I bought 2 packages (through the mail) and now realize I should of bought probably 20 or so. I am hoping someone could suggest a yarn type or size (?) which would be good for 10 mesh canvas, Thanks.

Try using sport yarn which I believe is 3-ply. Hope this helps.
