Default Macrame' Angels (help remembering)
Old 09-12-2002, 08:51 PM   #1 (permalink)

Hi, this is my first posting. Back in the mid 80's I made Angel ornaments out of macrame' cording and a small wooden bead. The body and wings were made by making either a square knot or slip knot, and then combing out the rest of the cording with a brush. Does this sound familiar to anyone else? I've lost my pattern through the years, and would now like to teach it to school age children. They are very inexpensive to make and sooo cute. If anyone could please help me, feel free to email me or send me an instant message. In need of

Thanks,

MarMar

Default Macrame Angels
Old 05-17-2008, 04:11 PM   #3 (permalink)

A few years back a friend pull old macrame books from the garage, which she gave to me. One of the first projects I did was the Angel. I was just getting to do it again and cannot find the book. Did you ever get the pattern? I could sure use it now -- unless -- hopefully -- I find where I misplaced the bppk last week. Please advise/et

i have made them out of the cross stich floss you take card board the lenght you want and wrap it around untill you have the desired size body you want if i remember right i had a 5 in board and it took about 40 or 50 time around ...tie one end of your angel so it stays together cut thur oppisite end floss then do the same for arms they were about 3 1/2 inches long tie both end of the arms slide off board
put marble in for head on the body piece tie to secure it there then put arms in and tie embelish as you like dont know if this helps... any ? just ask i will see if i can get to my christmas stuff and dig one out if you need a picture of one to help with putting it together
