Default Tomato planters
Old 10-04-2009, 08:24 PM   #1 (permalink)

Did anyone purchase the plastic tomato planters that hang upside down?
How did they work? I was going to get one but never did. It would be nice to know if they work well for next year.

If you don't want to buy one... a 5-gallon pickle bucket works just as well. Just carefully cut out the little circle in the bottom of the bucket, insert your plant upside down thru the lil circle.. fill with dirt... hang it up normally and the plant will grow from the bottom of the bucket. You can also put a head of cabbage or lettuce in the top of the bucket. Let's see a bunny eat that, lol! I did it last year, works great!

Great idea! I could decorate the outside of the bucket to make it more appealing to the eye.
