What is everyone planting this year? I need some new ideas.
We planted onions, tomatoes, carrots, squash, garlic, green peppers and corn last year.

We also had beets, peas, beans, asparagus and some potatoes. It will probably be about the same this year.

I'm going to be trying the square foot gardening this year.
Going with heirloom, open-pollinated seeds. No genetically altered stuff for us.
I got a tomato seed called Cherokee Purple, reviews I've seen are all good for this one. I'll also be doing some lima beans, green beans, peppers, another tomato for making spaghetti sauce and cucumbers. There's others but can't remember what until the order comes in!

I'll be doing tomatoes in ground, AND a couple tomatoes in upside down buckets. In the tops of the buckets, I'll put lettuce, 1 head per bucket. I'd like to see Peter Cottontail eat those, lol! I also have lots of leftover plastic hanging pots from old ferns that have since died, so I'll put a cabbage in each one of those. In the actual garden I will have Big Boy and Roma tomatoes, Purple hull peas, jalepenos and yellow bell peppers. I have about 15 cucumbers- straight 8's for salads, so far. I'm looking in yardsales and freecycle for large buckets, totes, and other containers. I'm thinking of trying a worm farm again this year, but we'll see, lol! I still have other ideas, but haven't decided on anything else.

We will plant tomatos, green peppers, carrots, beans and cucumbers for sure. We may try acorn squash.
We have rasberry bushes.

Not sure yet what else we will plant. We are making the garden a little bigger.

Last year we had....watermelon, musk melon, honeydew, pumpkins, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, potatoes, squash, zucchini, corn (never does very good), asparagus, green beans, yellow wax beans, carrots, purple carrots (taste like orange but turns your stew purple!).

This year I want to add strawberries & raspberries. I also want to plant some apple trees.

I usually don't do a garden, but this year I'm going to grow some cotton for my crafts. I also want to do sunflowers, pumpkins, squash, lettuce, strawberries and watermelons.

I have started seeds of peas, beans, tomatoes, corn, carrotts, sweet banana peppers. All that has sprouted is some beans. I'm also going to try cantaloupe. We have chives growing wild everywhere. Susan
