I have discovered the hard way how important it is when working with metals to play it safe. Don't underestimate the importance of a good pair of leather gloves. If you plan on doing any metal cutting please remember to use them. Even when cutting some types of heavy wire it is a good idea.
In some cases goggle are even necessary.
Make sure you follow directions to any project you decide to do. If they call for specific tools stick to what they say to use.
If you use scissors remember they wont be workable for anything else. They have only one purpose now.
A good pair of wire cutters is nice to have too. Get a special pair for yourself. Keep them separately from the toolbox.
Whatever you do, have fun and play it safe.
