Spool Knitting Help Needed.

I am making several knitting spools for an up comming craft show. What I need are some ideas on what to make with the knitted rope. I would be selling these to children and would like to have ideas for them on what they can make.

So far I have a key fob, necklace, bracelet, and an anklet. There has got to be more, this thing has been around for a very long time.

My daughter was going to do a whole bunch but she only completed two. What we made them into are headbands. I stitched elastic from one end to another. Beads, sequins, etc. can be stitched to them to dress them up.

Thank you for the headband idea, everyones likes headbands. Now that you mentioned it, what with winter on it's way, sewing several knitted cords together to make a fat/wide one will be great to wear instead of a hat.

Good idea, got me to thinking.

If you are spool knitting with cotton yarn, I coil the rope and hand stitch it together to make a "braided rug coaster." Practical and kids may make them for gifts.
